Funk band Heatwave’s ‘Boogie Nights’ was a beltin’ tune that was on repeat in every disco in 1976.
That was the last time we had a ‘heatwave’ like this.
Lynn’s not had her hot pants on this year (yet).
Unfortunately Don has been wearing his.
Let’s just not even talk about what Mark’s been wearing…
But – yeah, right – like properly hot right now!
Scorching
Anyone old enough to remember the summer of ’76 will tell you it was fantastic
But also had problems:
Drought, hose-pipe bans, stand pipes for water —
AND Brotherhood of Man won the Eurovision song contest – so we had to deal with that playing on the radio too.
