Kid’s stuff

Doing a top-notch professional job with window film installation takes years of training and experience. The implications of getting it wrong can be serious – it’s not child’s play.

So, when this village nursery school in Herefordshire came to us with a problem, we were happy they had come to the right place.

Durable have been in the window film business for over 50 years.

We are experts. The oldest window film company in Europe in fact.

We are trusted by the likes of English Heritage, The MoD, and The National Trust.

We pride ourselves on getting the very best solution for any issue with glass – with a cost-effective approach and minimal disruption on site.

The children and staff were experiencing unpleasant levels of heat and glare through a large glazed end wall.

All that glass. It looks lovely and brings lots of natural daylight into the space – but it does have a downside. When the sun is out things heat up.

And the resulting glare can make life very difficult – rendering monitors, screens and laptops unreadable – streaming into eyes – it’s generally uncomfortable and impractical.

Durable were called in to suggest a way to alleviate the problem.

The school needed to fix the obvious issues –  but didn’t want the highly reflective silver film often used in these cases .

What was needed was a less obtrusive and more elegant solution to keep patrons of the school – and the neighbours – happy.

We suggested Solar Gard True Vue 15 window film.

This film is far less offensive than some silver/mirrored type films (which are more often used in residential environments) which can be a bit of an eyesore.

True Vue 15 also has the added benefit of being a ‘dual reflective’ film – which means it does not turn into a mirror once lights are on and it is getting dark outside.

To minimise onsite disruption when working with the high level windows a lightweight tower was organised and erected by us.

All our installers are PASMA [Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association] trained for high level tower access.

Safety is our middle name 😉

The end result is a resounding success reducing the heat and glare, looking great and installed on time and on budget.

Good with glass.
