Awards Season…

Posted on - February 21, 2017

It’s that time of year again. Awards.

BAFTA’s, OSCARs, – there’s loads of ’em.

Celebrating the great and the good in the film world.

Well – We’ve won one!

Yes. Durable have won a prestigious award. And it’s a biggie.

We have had the honour bestowed on us of

The Solar Gard ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Kind of a BAFTA (British Association of Film & Tint Awards).

Durable have been specifying, supplying and installing Solar Gard film for over 45 years!

That’s – like – a very l-o-o-o-n-n-g-g-g-g time.

They’ve basically been  working with SolarGard since the last Ice Age (the historic event not the Disney franchise).

Sort of. Nearly.

Definitely an Age anyway.

Well done us.

Speaking of which between them Peter, Nick and Tony have been over 130 years with Durable!

(We’re not being unkind when we tell you – they’re old.  Tony remembers a time before buildings had windows, let alone film… and Nick got his first break supplying an early form of paint protection material to chariot racers… Peter can’t remember how long he’s been with us, but then he can’t remember where he left his car keys or where he lives sometimes. )

Watergate happened. Bloody Sunday. The last Apollo Mission to the moon. The book “The Joy of Sex’ was first printed (not sure how we remembered that…).

AND the successful partnering of Solar Gard and Durable.

Still going strong to this day.

We must be nuts.

I started in 1982 with Durable on what was to be a yearlong stay, however  35 years later I am still here, along with my fellow Directors Nick and Tony who both have worked for Durable for well over 40 years, and many of our team  with over 25 years-service to the window film market place, so we must be doing something right!”

NB: We have never been the recipient of a RAZZIE Award (raspberry awards for bad film…).

Something we are also very proud of. However there are cowboys out there (see our blog ‘BEWARE OF COWBOYS…’)
