This high school in Leicestershire had a big problem.

Well – two big problems to be honest.

The south facing windows in their music room meant that – when the sun was out – the heat gain was faster than Jamie Vardy. 

This also meant that in order to keep the kids cool they had to have to windows wide open.

It’s a music room.

Yeah – the noise [especially if they were playing Recorders. Does anyone actually like the sound of a Recorder? Seriously – the only thing worse is if your child takes up the Violin….] was proving way too much of a nuisance to everybody else in the school.

Concentration levels drop when classroom temperature goes up – and it’s difficult to do the maths with a bad version of Beethoven’s fifth in your ears.

Smart as a fox

The school called in Durable.

The finished job achieved nearly 80% reduction in heat!

The music room is now fit for purpose and the rest of the school have been able to study without ear plugs.
